The following is a detailed account from one of our recent clients who we moved to Canada. This was a highly sensitive move that required not only specialist lifting equipment, but custom made boxes in order to ship the larger more expensive items.
“I just want to thank everyone at Purdie worldwide for their wonderful help and assistance with my move to Canada.
I first came across Purdie worldwide in 2015 at an expo in Glasgow. I spoke with Neil Purdie and Stephen Compton at their stand and they both were so easy to talk to and gave me some great advice on moving overseas. (I also happened to win their raffle – a spa day prize) However due to a family loss my move was put on hold. When I started to look at moving to Canada again for a fresh start for me and my son, I thought of Neil and Stephen right away. I also remembering they both told me to get at least 3 BAR overseas companies out to price for the move, which I did.
When Stephen came out to see me about my move, he put me at ease right away and took my personal matters seriously, which meant a lot to me as I didn’t feel like just another client. He reassured me during the survey by explaining how his crew would wrap my large items and pack my fragile items. He explained how they would also put my selected items in a crate, like my canvases and large free standing mirror. Stephen was out with me 2 further times to sit and explain things I was not too sure about. I even made a call to the director Neil at this point about how impressed I was of the service I was receiving.
After a couple of changes and requotes I had it down to Purdie’s and 1 other, but the service level I was getting from the 1 other company was unmatchable and I picked Purdies.”

On the first day of moving Stephen was there again to see it started. The crew were on time, in uniform and in their liveried vehicles. They got to work straight away. They were so fast at packing and wrapping. But were also able to kept me informed the whole time to make sure they did not pack or wrap things that I needed.
The crew were on time and got stuck in straight away. In the afternoon their sister company Purdie Property Maintenance arrived to complete the dismantling and crate the selected items. My large bed needed to be removed from the upstairs window, which was done in no time at all, under the watchful eye of Stephen again.
Disaster happened, the missives were still not signed and I went straight into melt down. I phoned Purdie’s office to explain and as calm as you like it was sorted ‘’don’t worry we will bring it into store.’’ I was then called by Neil to explain that they would hold my goods until I instructed them to ship (all was signed and completed within a couple of days).
Overall I have been kept up to date with emails about my container and the arrival date. I know I made the correct decision picking Purdie worldwide.
So I want to give a big thank you to – overseas manager Stephen Compton & Director Neil Purdie, they made this move so easy and stress free for me and my son. Along with the crew containing – Stevie, Simon, Stewart, John, Purdies office staff and Purdie Property Maintenance.
I would highly recommend this company , I have been telling people in Canada and Scotland all about them.
