Update from Purdie Worldwide regarding Covid-19
***Covid-19 Update | 24th March 2020***
It is with a heavy heart that I write this statement. From our humble beginnings in 1960 we have never had a situation affect our business to the point where we have had to cancel moves. After taking as many precautions as possible over the past few weeks, the Purdie Team have been working extremely hard to move as many people as possible, but this now must come to a stop and want to thank all of my staff for the team effort shown in this “unchartered territory”.
Last night, our government placed us all into essential lockdown, closing all non-essential businesses. After further confirmation this morning, our business of removals is not classed as “essential” and as such Purdie Worldwide will no longer be operational through these telling times ahead. We have endeavoured to contact everyone who has booked a removal with ourselves in the coming weeks and months; Offering to postpone their moves and look at alternate dates, however with these uncertainties no further bookings are being taken, but please keep an eye out for future updates as to when this situation may end. I need to reiterate the severity of the situation we find ourselves facing. Never in war, recession or storm have we closed our doors but this invisible killer knows no bounds and does not discriminate. We need to come together at home, limit travelling and ultimately beat this virus and come out the other side with a new perspective of not only the material things in life but to how precious and fragile life itself can be.
Any closure like this is of course extremely challenging and unwelcome, but we must accept the duty of care that we have to all involved in the process. Many people’s lives are at risk, and we must do everything we can to reduce that risk. Be safe and we look forward to seeing you all hopefully sooner rather than later.
If you have any questions regarding this please email us directly at [email protected] where we will endeavour to answer any e-mails as quickly as possible.
